Complete guideline to STUDY IN GERMANY for Masters!! If you are confused about how to apply in Germany, so here is a step by step process to get admission in German Universities and how to prepare your documents!!

Step 1:- Apply for Appointment 1.) First of all you make sure that you have your Passport (valid up to 3 years). 2.) With that Passport go to the concerned German Embassy and apply for Appointment. 3.) If you belong to KPK/Punjab Province, then you will to apply at Islamabad Embassy otherwise at Karachi Consulate. 4.) According to German Embassy Islamabad, the waiting time for appointment is approximately 10 months which means that if you want to appear for interview in August, 2020. You should apply for Appointment 10 months before (October 2019) your required date. (Note: if you don't have it then makes it now so that you don’t have any appointment problem later) 5.) Documents required for appointment are Passport Number, Email address and Mobile Number.

Step 2:- Verification of all Academic Documents In order to become eligible for Foreign Studies, you need to do all the these things 1.) 2.) 3.) 4.) 5.)

Verification of Transcript and Degree from University Verification of High School (HSSC) and College Certificates Attestation from IBCC (Inter Board Committee of Chairman) Attestation From HEC (Higher Education Commission) Attestation of Documents from Ministry of Foreign Affairs)

1.)Verification of Transcript and Degree from University: First of all verify your Transcript and Degree from your concerned University. Verification of on the back side of Document. Often you will be charged fees.

Student graduated from UET Peshawar should visit the Transcript receiving section and ask for Transcript Verification. Then they should go CMS office and should obtain Degree Verification Receipt. Once fees paid should take their Degree to office next to Registrar Office. After 3-4 days they should go and receive the degree.

2.) Verification of High School (HSSC) and College Certificates: In order to verify your documents from IBCC(Inter Board Committee of Chairman), first you have to verify your documents from your Board. If you live in Peshawar, go to BISE Peshawar otherwise to your concerned board from where you obtained your Certificates and DMC’s.

a.) Visit your Concerned Board along with these Documents (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v)

Matriculation Certificate ( Original) Intermediate Certificate ( Original) 2 photocopies of Matriculation (SSC) Certificates 2 photocopies of Matriculation (SSC) Certificates Duly filled attestation form (separate forms for Matriculation, Intermediate) can be obtained from Counter.

b.) Payment of Dues Visit Bank BISE branch (located inside the BISE Office) and get Bank Challan forms (separate forms for Matriculation, Intermediate), fill in your particulars and deposit fees. Fees vary from place to place. If you are doing verification from Peshawar Board, then you will need to submit 400PKR per document. Submit 800PKR if you are doing verification of only HSSC and Intermediate Certificates otherwise with Marksheets (HSSC & Intermediate) you will deposit 1600PKR Note:- Most of universities require only Certificates therefore its upon you whether you want to verify them or not but verification of DMC(Marksheets) is not compulsory. c.) Submitting your Application Go to Counter 4 at BISE office with your complete application which now contains: a.) b.) c.) d.) e.)

Filled Attestation form ( for Matriculation) Filled Attestation form ( for Intermediate) 2 photocopies of Matriculation 2 photocopies of Intermediate Paid Challan Form(glued to attestation form separately)

Important Note: Once you have received your attested photocopies (sealed envelope), DO NOT open the envelope rather proceed to IBCC office for the next step.

3.) Attestation from IBCC (Inter Board Committee of Chairman) Second in line is the attestation of the Original Matriculation (SSC), Intermediate (HSSC) degrees through IBCC. Visit any of the nearest IBCC office at Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta. Procedure for Attestation of Matric and Fsc Certificates: Step 1: Remove plastic coating before depositing certificates for attestation. IBCC will not attest the certificates having plastic coating or sheets. Step 2: First verify certificates from the issuing boards( Simple Verification done mentioned above) . IBCC will attest only those certificates that have been verified by the respective issuing authorities. Step 3: Obtain Certificates Attestation Form at the reception of IBCC. Step 4: Go to Matric Branch or Intermediate Branch for the certificate you want to attest.

Step 5: Application for Certificates for Attestation must be submitted by the applicant, parents, and siblings. Step 6: Pay fee for attestation. Get Challan Form from the reception of IBCC (free of cost) Fee for each attestation of original certificate is Rs. 400. Fee for each attestation of copy of original certificate is Rs. 200. Step 7: After paying the Fee/Challan form go back to the required Matic/Inter Branch and submit the form along with following documents:    

Copy of CNIC Voucher/Challan Form Original Documents (Inter & Matric Certificates) Attested photocopies from the respective boards (Sealed Envelope)

Important Instructions: Time for filing Application for Attestation is from 8:15 AM to 1:00 PM on all working days except Fridays. For Fridays, time is 08:15 AM to 11:00 PM. Attestation of original certificate(s) is compulsory Photocopy of the certificate will be attested after attestation of the original certificate. Documents already attested from the Regional Offices of IBCC will not be attested by IBCC Islamabad. Applicants, his parents or siblings are required to collect the attested certificates within seven days from the date of deposit otherwise IBCC will not be responsible for misplacement (if any). When the Attestation Certificates will be delivered back by the IBCC? Delivery time for the attested certificates is next day after the day of deposit on all working days from 08:15 AM to 03:00 PM. (However, on Friday the timing for delivery will be 08:15 AM to 11:00 AM). Attested certificates will be delivered to the applicant (holder of the certificate) parents, and siblings only.

4.) Attestation From HEC (Higher Education Commission) Before visiting the HEC office: Create your online profile on HEC’s Degree Attestation Service (DAS): http://das.hec.gov.pk/ Enter your academic record, starting from Matriculation (SSC) upto your latest degree (Bachelors / Masters) under the “Education” tab. Proceed to the “Next Step” using the online form and select the documents you wish to be attested per level (Degree/Equivalence Certificate, Transcript, Provisional Certificate) & the regional office you wish to visit. For each original document, HEC charges Rs. 800 whereas for every photocopy Rs. 500 are charged. If your transcript is more than 1 page, Rs. 800 * number of pages will be charged for original whereas Rs. 500 * number of pages for photocopies.

Press “Submit” and now you will get an option to “Print” both the “Bank Challan” & the “Attestation Form”. If you have a printer handy, you might as well print it, otherwise there is a lab facility at the HEC office from where you can print the documents.

Day of visiting the HEC office: Mandatory document requirements Make sure you have the following documents with you on the day you visit the HEC office: a.) b.) c.) d.) e.) f.) g.)

Original Matriculation (SSC) Certificates with IBCC Attestation. Original Intermediate (HSSC) Certificates with IBCC Attestation. Original Bachelor’s Degree with Transcripts Original Master’s Degree with Transcripts Original CNIC 1 x photocopy of each document above for HEC record. Additional photocopies of each document you want photocopies attested for.

Procedure In the greater interest of time you should be at the gate by 7:30 am and enroll yourself in the “Manual Register” with the security guards. At 8:00 am you would be allowed to enter into the main hall, where an HEC representative would distribute tokens according to your entry in the manual register. For those who do not have prints of the Bank Challan/Attestation forms, you would now be told to head towards a nearby lab from where you can get the prints. Your token would now be called on both the speaker and the screen up front directing you towards a counter. Counter 1 & 2 accept, scrutinize and place in order the documents which include:      

Original degrees, transcripts, certificates (Matriculation upto Bachelors/Masters) Set of photocopies of each document for HEC record and additional photocopies of each document you want photocopies attested for Original CNIC Photocopy of CNIC Bank Challan Attestation form

The HEC officer would staple all documents together after verification and guide you to the next counter. Only your CNIC is returned at this stage. Counter 3 (or the Bank Window) is where you would make the necessary payments for attestation. You would now be guided to the next counter. Counter 4 is where you would deposit the set of documents and the HEC officer would give you the “Applicant Copy” of the Bank Challan with a manual number written up top (this would be your receiving token number) and a stamp at the back along with a manual number (this would be the number or original documents that you have submitted to the HEC, make sure to double check it).

You would now be asked to visit the office again between 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm for collection of attested documents. Counter 4 would call out the “receiving token number” as printed on your copy of the Bank Challan, once again make sure that all your original documents are returned and the required attestations are in place. Note: If you arrive on time, i.e you have a token by 8:00 am, you would be done with submission by 9:30 am after which you can go back to your home/work and return at 3:00pm for receiving the attested documents.

5.) Attestation of Documents from Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Prerequisites:     

For attestation of Matriculation (SSC), Intermediate (HSSC) degrees, attestation of documents from BISE & IBCC is must. For attestation of Bachelors / Masters Degree, attestation of HEC is mandatory and should be done first. 1 x photocopy of each document above for MOFA record Additional photocopies of each document you want photocopies attested for. Original CNIC / Photocopy

Procedure: Visit any of the nearest MOFA Office. From the first counter, obtain “Attestation Stamps” as per the MOFA schedule of charges. Affix stamps on your educational documents (original and/or photocopies) Proceed to the “Attestation Area” on the 1st floor. Show your educational documents / CNIC to the MOFA officer sitting near the token machine, who will verify the documents and give you a token. Token’s would be announced on the over-head screen. Upon your turn, proceed to the designated counter and submit your documents. You would be given a collection time (normally 2 hours after submission).

STEP 3:- Preparation for IELTS Start preparation for IELTS. It takes around a month if you are preparing either yourself or from any institute. 6.0 (overall) is minimum score. But it’s good if u score 6.5 or 6.5+ (overall). (Note: I'll personally recommend preparing it by your own. If you need any assistance then prepare it online via EDX, they're for free and groom you well. Note:- By the time you have done all the preparation and verification, and given test, it will DECEMBER and most of the masters programs for next year will be open for apply.

STEP 4:- Start Applying for Masters Start searching your desired field from daad.de 3.1 https://www.daad.de/…/studienan…/international-programs/en/… 3.2 https://www.study-in.de/en/ 3.3 http://www.mastersportal.eu/ Keep these things in your mind while searching your course.      

IELTS and GPA requirement. Fees of your course (mostly universities are free). Beginning (summer or winter). Duration (generally 2 years). DEADLINE (mostly: 15 Jan for summer and 15 July for winter). Language of instruction (mostly are in English)

STEP 5: Apply Through Uni-Assist Keep in mind that being a national of Non-European State, Pakistanis cannot directly apply to universities. You have to apply through uni.assist, Create a FREE Uni-Assist Account, go to this https://www.uni-assist.de/en/ (Uni-assist will manually verify your account and reply you via email, make sure your details are correct.)

After confirmation you’ll be asked to answer BASIC QUESTIONS (your personal details and educational background, make sure dates are correct).

4. Choose your desired Program and click on it to Create an Application

5. Next your application will be created and you’ll be asked to fill some important details (your personal details will be filled automatically, also check them to verify if they’re correct).

6. Allocating Files is the most important part of the application. You have to scan and upload the required documents for your application and also Allocate them to your application as well.

When you upload the files, you’ll get list of the Uploaded Files from there you can check the files that you want to allocate to your application

Submit Online After online submission you can also get the PDF file of your application Uni-Assist will now allot you your Application ID and confirm your application submission via email You can apply to as many programs in different universities or to different programs within same university. Each program requires separate application (same method for creating application) even you’re applying in the different programs of same university.

Sending Documents After the online application you’re required to send the documents in hard form (1 copy) to Uni-Assist via post (DHL, TCS). Print the Application from Uni-Assist Portal and Sign. If you have applied for multiple applications, print all the applications and sign them. Print all the other documents that you are asked (such as intermediate certificate, language requirement, matric certificate, bachelor’s degree, transcript). You only need to send 1 copy even if you’re applying for multiple programs at multiples universities.

STEP 6:- Notarization All the photocopies set that you will sent to Uni-Assist requires Notarization, the Notarization Authority is present in every city’s High/Session Courts, here’s the list of documents that require notarization:    

Secondary School Certificate – SSC (Matric Sanad) Higher Secondary School Certificate – HSSC (Intermediate Sanad) Bachelor’s Degree Bachelor’s Transcript

DHL is the best and the most reliable service, it will charge around RS 2200-2400. When you go to DHL ask for Student Discount.

STEP 7 :- Payments & Fee of Uni-Assist 

Uni-Assist is not a FREE service, they charge Handling Fee for your application.

The most easiest way to pay your expenses is to pay using Mastercard or Visa Card.

Things to Keep in Mind Uni-Assist processes your application only when they receive your payment so make sure your payment is done in time. You’ll get all types of confirmations (application, payment, processing) from Uni-Assist via email. You can always check your application status from your uni-assist portal. If you missed a document, uni-assist will inform you via email and you have to send it again by post so make sure your application is complete. Still confused? Apply for multiple universities so that in some university you got enrolled. It will take almost month to two to receive your application decision. Once you have been provided with a Admission Letter, You should start preparing yourself for Visa Interview.
